TATTOOS: completely feminine ink

Tattoos are usually put into set categories:
  • Tribal
  • Black and greyscale
  • Old school
  • Realism
  • Japanese

And sterotypically these are for guys more than girls. So the association is that tattoos must be masculine.

But they don't have to be.

When I first decided to get my first sleeve, I was told not to.

"It's butch"

"You won't look as feminine"

"You'll lose your natural English - Rose beauty"

But honestly none of that is true.

Tattoos aren't just skulls, daggers, nude ladies and anchors - i mean we all know this right?

But it doesn't stop normal intelligent people from immediately responding to heavy tattooing on females as being against femininity.

However, I can honestly say, my tattoos are far from manly, and are really quite feminine. I have cats, swans, a bunny, a fox, a stag, more flowers than I can count.

I mean I would never have taken part in the below photoshoot last year, and shared them for the internet to see without my tattoos. And the photos, in my opinion, evoke femininity.

And I'm not the only one with girly tattoos.

Check out the designs from the likes of Rachel Baldwin, Amy Savage, Sam Whitehead and Georgina Jurd. A mix of girly accessories, fluffy animals, jewels, and kawaii cuteness.

What about you?
Do you have a girly tattoo?
What do you think about heavily tattooed girls?

  2. Ugh your tattoos are SO beautiful, I'm saving up to get my second tattoo as soon as possible. Also, I hate the assumption that a lot of feminine tattoos are "cliche" & "basic" - if you like the design, get it!

  3. It's amazing how the topic of tattoos can turn a 100% normal person into a judgey jerk. I love your tattoos! And I love mine.
