LIFESTYLE: A very Good Friday

A very Good Friday

How was everyone's Easter? Did you have a good one?

We had the full four days off work as neither of us work Bank Holidays so we made the most of it on Friday with a trip out. Also did anyone else absolutely love the totally untraditional Bank Holiday sunshine we had on Good Friday? It was glorious down in Southampton.

We started out our day with a trip to Ikea. I had a shopping list which looked about a mile long filled with stuff for the nursery and playroom, and it felt so good to get some many things taken off the list. We got there around 10am and went straight for breakfast because, well it was a holiday after all! It was my first Ikea breakfast and I was so impressed. Both of our breakfasts, including extra mushrooms, black pudding and fried bread for dann and tea and coffee came to £5.70!! I mean bargain right?!?! How have I gone so long without???
After filling up with a lot of Ikea stuff, we headed home, and then back out for food shopping, because we do try to be adults occasionally!! Plus we needed Easter eggs!

^^The sofa literally filled the car! A very tight squeeze for the drive home!^^

After building the new sofa for the playroom (isn't it cute, and it's a sofa bed, so perfect for guests) and our Poang Chair for the living room (my rocking chair has now moved up to the nursery) we decided to make the most of the sunshine and got out our fire pit. We picked it up last summer and didn't actually get around to using it, so we are definitely going to try and get as much use out of it as possible this summer. The smores' were amazing FYI!! Definitely a must for the summer, although we did stink of smoke at the end.

We finished our day with hotdogs and movies...not that I have any photos of that. All in all a rather perfect Good Friday.

What did you get up to?

  1. I loved this post Rachel! So simple but it really gave a feel for your day. It's great seeing you getting things for the nursery - although we don't know each other I'm loving following your pregnancy journey!

  2. That Ikea breakfast looks amazing! Next time I'm somewhere with an Ikea I think I definitely need to go and get that, it's so cheap as well!
I love the sofa bed you got! I've been looking at getting something like that for my own place for when we have guests over to stay since the "spare" room is now baby's room!
Looks like you had a fantastic day and you can't beat a good bit of tasty food!
