BABY: Pregnancy update - April - weeks 28-31

I honestly can't believe how fast the weeks are going in this pregnancy, but we're back at another update already. The last couple of weeks have been pretty good all round to be honest, and we're officially in the third trimester!! In fact we're into single digit weeks til the due date! Now that's a little bit scary.

We've been pretty practical recently having been to our first three antenatal classes and doing a lot of learning. We've also done a bit of shopping to buy the last few large bits for the nursery and made the final payment for our travel system (collecting next month... OMG). I've even started pulling things together for my hospital bag, but still a little way off getting that complete! I have to admit I totally love decorating the nursery, and we've started work on the playroom too!

Dann picked up this gorgeous commemorative coin from the Royal Mint to celebrate 150 years of Beatrix Potter. I have the entire book collection at home from when I was a child and love them all, so this just seemed like the perfect little gift for our little one. Plus how utterly gorgeous is it!? Hopefully it will bring them good fortune for their future.

^^bump at 30 weeks + 5 days - not the most amazing photo but I do LOVE this dress - custom made from Contagious Clubwear^^

Weeks: 28-31 weeks

Bump: Very round, and Baby Bee seems to enjoy laying across the front, pushed as far forward as possible. Not entirely the most comfortable position, but better than being on my bladder. I have gotten my first little stretch mark, proving that genetics really do make their mind up for you, no matter how much bio-oil you use. But to be honest I'm actually really ok with it. I've never been a tummy showing off kinda person and the way my bump is growing, I'm actually surprised it's only one right now!

Food: I've developed a real love for Twiglets. I literally have to have them everyday at work. Thankfully Dann went to the shops and stocked up for me. Guess the savoury craving is starting to kick in, much to the boy-guessing relatives!

Sleep: Generally still pretty well, with the two to three times nightly pee breaks. But I seem to be sleeping deeply when I'm down. Though lie-ins seem to be evading me.

Feeling: Pretty good in general. Occasional heartburn and backache can be a bit of a downer, but all in all, I really can't complain at this point. Yes I think sometimes my hormones get the better of me, but much less than I even anticipated.

Best thing of the month: My baby bump shoot with The Photo Rooms. I'll be doing a whole post on it when the photos arrive.

Worst thing of the month: Heartburn, backache and a couple of little things that I really won't get into detail about here. Though they are all perfectly manageable and not exactly the worst symptoms I could have, so counting my blessings.

Looking forward to: Baby shower at the end of this week. Mostly I'm just looking forward to seeing all my friends and eating cake!

  1. Look at you!! I don't know how you pregnant Mama's manage to look SO good - I'd look like a zombie with anger issues at all times.

  3. You look absolutely gorgeous in that dress! It flatters your little baby bee bump so beautifully!
Glad to hear you're managing to sleep pretty well but I know the feeling of not being able to get a lie in, early mornings all around here! I hope the other symptoms you've been having aren't too serious and I'm glad they're manageable!
Hoping the heartburn stops for you because it is horrible! My little one has dropped so I've been heartburn free lately thankfully! So hopefully that eases up for you sooner rather than later! You can get medication from the doctor if you feel you need to which can help massively!

    1. It's such a gorgeous dress, I have no idea why I don't wear it more!

Thankfully my heartburn is pretty manageable at the moment and I seem to be coping in general quite well. Fingers crossed it stays this way! Xx
