LIFESTYLE: Happy Fathers Day - plus a dad-to-be gift idea
Happy Father's Day to all the great and amazing dads out there in the UK, and around the world too!
We're very lucky that Henry decided to arrive early in time for us to celebrate Father's Day,which made Dann one very happy daddy.
I'm a huge advocate of celebrating the people who impact your life positively. That can be amazing and loyal friends. Your mum that brought you up to be the person you are today. The dad-to-be who is going head on into a scary and exciting new time in their life. Or the man who stepped up and loved three girls who were betrayed.
This post is dedicated to three dads.
First my Danny.
You may or may not actually have a baby to hold - though I really hope you do, but I doubt I'll have time to edit this before it posts! But I know with every bone in my body that you are going to be the best dad in the entire world. I've never had a single doubt about how wonderful a human you are, and I know that part of you is going to come out in our child and that brings me so much happiness.
I've never known a person to be so well loved by everyone they meet, including children, and it makes me happy everyday.
Second to Dann's dad, Brad.
I know how much you love your son, and I know how much he makes your proud. I hope we continue to make you proud. We're always grateful for everything you do. Another grandchild for you this year, and we hope you love them as they're going to love you.
And lastly my dad, Pete.
No not my biological father, but I don't think that makes a person any less of a dad. Biology is just our chemical make-up, but doesn't make us choose who to love. You came into our lives at the right time and made my mum the happiest I've ever known her, and that means more to me than almost anything else. You stepped into a house filled with hormones (luckily for you, not mine) and took three daughters into your heart. How a person loves says a lot about a person I think, and you love with your entire heart. The most caring man whom I love dearly. You're going to be the best Grandpa because you've been the best dad over the last eight and a half years. We love you.
This year as Dann prepares to be a dad for the first time, I prepared him a little gift for Father's Day, a dad-to-be survival kit, filled with bits for Dann ahead of Henry's arrival - including sweet treats, coffee and a new book for bedtime reading, as well as the cutest little bee hat for Henry to wear!!
To all the dads out there, Happy Father's Day, and celebrate, because you're all amazing.
