Get your Taco on - Taco Bell Southampton
There's something new about Southampton this November, and I'm not just talking about the new Christmas German Market.
To add to the amazing selection of restaurants and fast food places in the city centre, we have welcomed Taco Bell. Yep Taco Bell is in Southampton, and we're already very excited!
The American fast food chain is so so popular in the states, being the hangover food of choice. We're so used to KFC and McDonald's and maybe the occasional Subway, that it is so great to see a new contender to the naughty food empire.
As part of the Sotonbloggers, I was invited along to the VIP launch night on Monday (ahead of their official opening on Wednesday 21st November) to try out their menu and get a feel for the place. And boy oh boy, did they impress.
We finished our night with huge food babies after trying loaded nachos, loaded spicy fries, quesadillas, burritos and of course TACOS.
Now I'm going to admit something.... I've never actually tried a taco before! Shock horror I know! But the taco bell ones were awesome. I had a hard shell one - I think they just had to be done - filled with beef, lettuce and cheese. Now these are definitely not first date food, because eating them is messy business, but oh so worth it! I think we had mini tacos as they weren't the really huge shells you see in supermarkets and on TV, but it kind of made them perfect.
To be honest all the food was pretty amazing, and just kept on coming out.
We were also provided with lots of drinks including slushies, and soft drinks from their refill station (OMG Apple Tango on tap. I was obsessed with the stuff when I was pregnant, especially in the early days, and to be honest I still love it! If you can't find me, you know where I'll be!).
Alongside food there was also a pretty fun photo booth from Shutterbooth, which of course we had to hit up. Taco Hats and signs, plus bloggers and a camera...it's a winning combination!
To finish off the night, we were treated to Chocodillas, which are amazing. They're basically quesadillas with a melted kitkat inside. I genuinely could have eaten them until I exploded. We also of course had Churros, because no self-respecting Mexican restaurant can not do Churros.
Basically, if you're in Southampton, you need to get to Taco Bell (it's in Hanover Buildings, next to RUSH hair for all your locals), because you 100% won't regret it.
Thank you Taco Bell for hosting us, and filling us up enough to have to practically roll home!
This was an invite event, but as always, all opinions are my own.
