Champagne from the top of the Spinnaker Tower
Every so often, something hits my inbox that is so unique and different I get really excited and truly happy that I blog. Such an email came for Sotonbloggers about the new launch of Champagne Sundays at the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth.
As a Southampton gal I have to admit that Portsmouth isn't a city I visit very often, though every time I do I'm reminded that I really need to explore more. And this has alway included one day going up the Spinnaker Tower... and I can now tick that off the old bucketlist!
Along with a few others from the Sotonbloggers gang we went along to the launch night of Champagne Sundays* to sample beautiful British champagne and sparkling wine and take in the amazing views over the sea and Portsmouth coastline.
In typical British fashion, of course, it spectacularly poured it down, but the tower still makes for an impressive view and some pretty, even if I do say so myself, photos too!
The large space of deck one, stood 100 metres above sea level, has the centre-piece of their skywalk! I've never been hugely bothered by heights, but something about a glass floor really made my knees feel weak. Thank goodness for the free flowing Champagne and the hand hold of Emily to get me over as I really wanted to walk across, just once (well twice actually) just to say I did it! Plus Alice captured the gut-wrenching moment too, so you know, evidence, and I won't be doing that again!
Anyway, back to the reason we were there - Champagne Sundays! The pop-up bar event is running over this summer from the 11th June to the 10th September (please check their website for full date inclusions) giving you the chance to view the Portsmouth sunsets with a sparkly glass all for £16 per person. So if you have a special occasion, anniversary, birthday, or just fancy a night out and ticking off a little from your bucketlist, this is the perfect place to go!
*free attendance to launch night via Sotonbloggers from the Spinnaker Tower, in exchange for review. All opinions, as always are my own.
