Blogger tags are so much fun,but I haven’t done one in what feels like an age, so when I was tagged by Amy to do the Mummy Tag I jumped at the chance. To be honest I’m always game to answer questions about me, my family and my life, I’m an open book. Plus I’m super nosey so might as well share too.
1. Are you a Stay At Home Mum or a Working Mum?
I’m currently on maternity leave for a year. I’ll be going back to work afterwards which is going to be really strange!
2. Would you have it any other way?
I’m hoping to go back part time so I cam do a bit of both, and I’d like to progress this blog enough to take it at least part time!
3. Do you Co-Sleep?
Yes. We started out with a moses basket inside our crib but Henry isn’t a fan of sleeping in the moses basket. Then we bought a sleepyhead insert which is working pretty well but most mornings he wakes around 5am for a cuddle but doesn’t want milk so we co-sleep. It’s not something I thought I would do, but I do love it when he snuggles into me.
4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
Our Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep machine and our Graco Swinging Chair. Sorry I couldn’t pick just one! We combination feed and the prep machine is an utter lifesaver! And Henry loves sleep but likes to be rocked so this swing has made naps during the day so much easier, but it does go through batteries so fast!
5. How many kids do you plan on having?
I’d like at least two. If I can have a girl next time around I think we’ll stop at a pigeon pair. But I wouldn’t mind going to three. Both myself and Dann are one of three kids so we’re happy to go to that!
6. Date nights? How often do you have them?
We haven’t had one yet! As Henry is still young we aren’t quite ready to leave him without one of us!
7. Your child’s favourite show?
He isn’t really old enough for TV yet but we have been loving the Gilmore Girls a lot recently.
8. Name one thing you bought before you had the baby and never ended up using.
We made sure to not buy too much before Henry was born, just the essentials so there wasn’t much that we haven’t at least tried. We were given lots of hand mits which we never used as I didn’t want to cover Henry’s hands or I couldn’t see his hunger cues. We also have loads of hats that have been given or that were included in clothing sets that we haven’t used either.
9. Your child’s favourite food?
My boy is all about his milk. He’s a great feeder, and loves formula so we’re happy bunnies over here.
10. How many cars does your family have?
Just the one!
11. Weight gain, before pregnancy, during, after and now?
I put on 13kg over the course of my pregnancy. I know a couple of weeks post partum I was down to just over 5kg over my pre-pregnancy weight. However I’ve never really been one to monitor my weight, I’m more about feeling good about my body, which I will be working on soon now that I’m more comfortable with the mum thing!
12. Dream holiday with your kids?
Disneyworld without a shadow of a doubt! We’re probably going to do Disneyland Paris first though.
13. Dream holiday without your kids?
14. How has your life changed since having kids?
We seem to make so much more effort to do things at the weekends since we’ve been comfortable enough to take Henry out. Of course also I’m more tired and spend more time at home currently. To be completely honest my life has entirely changed but 100% for the better.
15. Finish the sentence “it makes my heart melt when..”
Henry smiles up at me, and tries to laugh. He has a really breathey laugh which sounds like an intake of breath and it is so funny and sweet. You can see a video over on my instagram.
16. Where do you shop for your kids?
We’re huge Primark lovers, and their kids range is really cute and super cheap which is ideal for little ones. We also love Next clothes, and are definitely going to be hitting up their sales more often. We also found some absolute bargains in TKMaxx too.
17. Favourite make-up and skincare products?
For Henry we’re using Aldi’s Mamia range in the bath, and the Purepotions Baby Oil for his dry scalp. For me, I’mall about lip products and I’m loving the Sleek lip creams and I can’t get enough of Beegood or Lush.
18. Huggies or Pampers?
Pampers, but we’re also used Aldi Mamia and Tesco baby too, and we really like all of them.
19. Have you always wanted kids?
Yes always. I couldn’t ever imagine not having children.
20. Best part of being a Mum?
Seeing his smile every day and watching him grow and develop. It’s the hardest and best job in the world, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
