How I'm changing my social media

Recently I've been really thinking about my social media and how I use it.

As any blogger will know, social media is the cornerstone to a blog. Without it, growing a readership and following is pretty difficult (though not impossible, SEO can gain you many more views).

The thing with social media though, is knowing how best to use it to get the best possible return for your effort.
So I've been doing a bit of thinking and assessing, and have decided on how I want to use my social media platforms going forward, and I thought I'd share it with you so you know what to expect.

Ok so Twitter is my strongest social media platform. It has my highest following and directs the most amount of traffic to this blog of all my social media.
For the most part, I'm keeping my twitter the same.
I post 3-4 scheduled tweets about new blog posts per day (using tweetdeck), and then use buffer and tweetdeck to load retro posts and other blog post promotion, up to five times a day.
You'll also find that I chat more on Twitter, and tweet out random updates. I am however going to work harder on tweeting out general life updates and chat to make this platform more interactive.

I have a love/hate relationship with Instagram. I love the platform so much, mainly due to my love of photography, but I find it so so hard to grow. I love profiles with a theme, but a unique theme. Two of my faves from bloggers have to be Alice and Katy's IGs as they are literally so perfect.
I've decided based on the Instagrams I adore, to take a step away from using my blog photos on my Instagram, and focus on producing images just for that platform. Yes some will tie into blog posts, but I want to develop a theme with it. I have a few ideas, and want to do more of a behind the scenes and exclusive content to my IG.

Instagram Stories
These will be blog related - so expect new post alerts and live event updates as well as previews of posts and upcoming reviews here!!

I find Facebook really hard to get along with, but know that it does have an impact on my blog stats and people do use it to read my blog.
For this platform I will continue to add images and direct links to the blog.
I'm also going to work on adding more inspirational images - such as from Pinterest, including a mix of quotes and images, as well as links to sites and stories that I love. So it will have a real mixed feel to it, similar to Twitter.

Not going to lie, I go through phases with Snapchat where I'll post loads in a few days, and then nothing for several days!! I'm going to try to be a little more consistent. Basically this will be lots of behind the scenes general life stuff, and a whole bunch of selfies with the filters, because those filters are life! Add me @rachelanne_bee

So there you have it.
