The Purrfect Christmas

With Christmas just days (yes, DAYS) away we've been thinking a lot about how we're going to spend the day.
Of course it's a pretty special one as it's our first with Henry, but it's also Archimedes's first Christmas on his own without Dante as a companion for two years. We've decided we want to make this Christmas even more special as Archimedes has been so good with Henry the last six months (OK the first three he kind of pretended that Henry didn't exist, but since then, he's been brilliant).

I'm working with WHISKAS to show you our purrfect Christmas, with a little help from Archimedes.

One of the highlights during Christmas morning for us is unwrapping presents. Now of course we do enjoy presents, but we also ball up the wrapping paper and watch Archimedes bat it across the floor. He seems to have the most amount of fun just chasing a ball of paper around the living room floor.
And of course Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a box or two, and any self-respecting cat lover will know that a cat and a box are a match made in heaven!

Pretty much our Christmas morning is made up of fun and games, for everyone, including the cat. And yes Archimedes gets his own presents too. We tend to get him a WHISKAS stocking* and my mum always send some treats too. Plus a few odds and ends inside his stocking too! Yep,we're THAT family!

Christmas lunch is also a family affair. Although we are always careful to ensure that Archimedes doesn't get his paws on our food, he is always treated to a naughty bit of human food in the shape of ham or boiled fish. He's a sucker for ham so I think that will be his treat this year. He also gets a little special cat food for over the Christmas period (being an indoor cat we monitor his food carefully) too.

Of course, no Christmas Day afternoon would be complete without Christmas TV on the sofa. So blankets and cuddles galore are in store. Though knowing Archimedes, he'll tire of the festivities and head up to our bed for a nap - so Christmas duvets are a must, am I right?

Basically, we see Archimedes as a part of our family, so treat him just the same, especially for Christmas. We like to make a fuss of him, especially as we tend to go back to our home towns for a few days after Christmas (don't worry we have a friend who comes over to feed him and give him lots of cuddles - I swear he secretly loves her and the peace & quiet) and after such a hectic year with a baby he really deserves to be spoilt.

How will you be spending your Christmas with your cat?

  1. This is so sweet! I know so many who their pets are just as important and it's really nice to see. My sisters got doggy stockings for her dogs haha 😂 xxx

    Emily - Babies and Beauty

    1. Definitely. Doggy stockings sound way fun - they like toys more than cats do!

  2. Ah this is lovely. I've never had a cat but I know Ed misses his one especially at Christmas time as he finds it odd to not have the baubles pulled off (although I'm sure Benjamin will change that by next Christmas!) x

    1. Ha ha - we're lucky, Archie has shown no interest in the baubles! Ribbon is a different story mind!!

  3. Now we have Milo, he too is apart of our little family and been thinking would it be mad to get him some presents. Thanks for the needs up about Whiskas stocking, think I will treat him to one.

    1. The stocking is lovely, especially as the treats are a both fun for the cat, but good for their teeth too!

  4. Things like this make me wish I had a pet to spoil, I love it when people buy their pet's stockings of treats makes them feel like more of the family than ever. Beautiful!

  5. This is so sweet! I know so many who their pets are just as important and it's really nice to see. Beautiful cat!

  6. Archimedes must be having a great holiday season! I don't have a cat so I really wouldn't know the feeling of spending the holidays with a cat... nor a pet. But wishing you a great Christmas time!

  12. Pets are part of the family and they too can enjoy Christmas! I love that your kitties get to be such a big part of your festive time.

  13. My cat gets spoilt over christmas, presents, a little bit of turkey and gravy, massive amounts of blanket snuggles and we let her play with our wrapping paper which she loves. She's part of our family (my lil furbaby) so why shouldn't she get spoilt lol :)

  14. What a beautiful black cat! A female all black cat (with green eyes, too) adopted my husband and me our first year of marriage. What beauties they are.
