OK that title was more for fun than anything as this post has literally nothing to do with Christmas, but there are dinosaurs… I promise. I pretty much just wanted an excuse to share some of the photos we took when we went to Wookey Hole at the beginning of the month, and share a little bit of our experience there.
I went to Wookey Hole for the first time back when I was a kid. I think I was about 11 years old, so we’re talking 16 years ago, and although I had some pretty good, though vague memories about the place, I knew I wanted to go back, especially as we were already in the area.
I have to admit, the place has been updated a lot since I was there last, but I guess after 16 years, you kind of have to expect that.
First off we did the cave tour which was just as amazing as I remembered from my first visit – Dann had never been before, but he found it pretty fascinating.
We let Henry have a bit of a wander too as he really wasn’t keen on being carried, he just wanted to explore. Luckily there was another young family in the group too so we didn’t feel like the only ones with a troublesome toddler in a cave system!
^^ Cave cheese- which is yum if you wondered! ^^
Once outside is where the adventures really begin, and they’ve really tailored the place to families and making it a good day out.
Of course the highlight was the Dinosaur Land, as we’re pretty much in love with dinos over here!
As you can see from the photos below we had fab weather and loved exploring. We also did the mirror maze about three times, though we had to carry Henry as he walked solidly into a mirror twice within minutes of walking into the maze!!
Oh they also have crazy golf, and it was my first time doing it, and Henry’s too. Quite a laugh, and the couple behind us seemed to find our antics hilarious, which they were considering Henry kept walking off with the balls!
^^ this shot is a little out of focus as I was having some issues with my auto focus but I love it so much as Henry was bouncing on Dann’s shoulders! ^^
My new favourite photo of the boys! He loves peering round to look at his daddy!
So, yeah, Dinosaurs, not just for Christmas, they’re all year round at Wookey Hole!! 😉
As a mother who loves to travel, I’d love to take Henry on a trip to Disneyland Paris someday. The trip won’t be cheap, but I’ve learned that I can buy or rent a Disney Vacation Club timeshare on the DVC Resale Market at a steeply discounted price.
