There’s something about October that makes it just the perfect month for photos.
I think it’s the mix of pretty great weather, neither too hot nor too cold, with a lot of blue skies and crisp mornings and the changing colours of the world around us. I might love a bit of a blue and green theme on Instagram, but I love the turning of green to gold too.
It also seems, that October is our top month for photoshoots, and who can blame me really? An autumnal photoshoot is a bloggers dream really.
To say I am overjoyed with how they’ve come out would be a total understatement.
The whole shoot was really relaxed and just involved us exploring the woods – and we found a brand new route to take with the boys for the future which was pretty great – and Heather grabbing photos as and when she saw something she liked.
It can be tricky getting kids to co-operate when it comes to photos, especially if they really aren’t in the mood for it. Which was the case for some of the earlier family of four photos we were trying to capture – let’s be honest they’re difficult to capture at the best of times – but Heather was very relaxed about the whole thing, and we still got some brilliant photos, including my fave “family cuddle” instigated by the toddler himself! Also the ones where we are laughing is because we were trying to get him to laugh by shouting “Dann” but he decided to just shout “NO” instead, which was hilarious, and meant we got some very funny photos.
As is usually the case with photoshoots, my favourites are the ones that were captured right at the end when we were heading back to the car but Henry decided to run and climb some fencing. There, Heather captured quite a few of my favourite photos, including the Henry kissing one!
I think I now have a new Autumn tradition, a little autumnal photoshoot for the family – we also did a shoot in October 2016 including the outfit that Dexter is wearing, but on Henry, and Dann is basically wearing the same outfit too. Apparently I like stripes and autumn colours!!
*we were gifted three complimentary photos, and paid a discounted rate for the additional images that we chose. This blog post was under no obligation, but I loved the photos and experience so much I wanted to share.
