It’s that time of year again! Pumpkin picking season! And October wouldn’t be October without a little pumpkin picking at Pickwell Farm for our little family.
This year was our third year visiting our local Pick Your Own Farm to get our pumpkins, and the first with our little family of four. It’s a bit mad to think that exactly two years ago we took Henry for his first pumpkin patch adventure – which he slept through completely – but this is now one of my absolute favourite traditions. Especially as last year’s pumpkin photos are amongst my favourite photos of Henry ever.
This year we did a quick visit on a Sunday morning. It was just starting to get busy as we were heading home, but we did manage to get some good pumpkins and photos before the crowds joined us!
Luckily the field wasn’t as muddy as we had anticipated (it had chucked it down all day on the Saturday) and the fields were set out with just the pumpkins and no stalks which was much easier for little feet to walk over. In fact I think this was the biggest set up of pumpkins at Pickwell Farm to date. But at £2 per pumpkin picked, it’s no surprise that they are getting very popular. Plus no October would be complete without a little shoot in the pumpkin field!
