The Teacup Book Club

April 10, 2019

I’ve always been super passionate about books. I’m not sure much makes me happier than settling down with a good book and a hot cup of tea, aside from maybe spending time with my family.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a bookworm. As a teenager I spent an inordinate amount of time in my local library. One to use their computers as my mum wouldn’t allow one in the house. But also to borrow books. I would absolutely love to see a list of all the books I took out and read from my local library through out my childhood.

My sisters are TV fans. Watching endless amounts of British comedies mostly, whereas I could always be found with a book.

Of course life gets in the way and I have dropped how much I read in previous years, spending more time either out of the house, or bingeing TV shows. However since having kids, I’ve found a new love in books – I wrote this post last year about books as self-care – and find them an integral part of my daily routine.

I have to read each evening before bed. Instead of scrolling Instagram each evening, I sit and read for at least half an hour, sometimes hour, sometimes much much longer. But I find it helps me fall asleep. It helps inspire me. I feel more creative with my own writing – especially as I am currently trying to maybe just maybe write my own book!

So I thought to myself that as this is such a big part of who I am, and how I’ve developed as a person, I needed to incorporate it into my blog. I’ve done so previously but not consistently, and now it’s time to change that. I want to inspire more reading, as a part of motherhood and parenting. Children need books, and so do adults.

So I introduce the Teacup Book Club.

I’ll be writing book reviews, and monthly updates on what I’ve been reading and what books I’ve seen about that I want to read. I’m going to talk about self-help books and self-care. I’m going to write about children’s books and our favourite bedtime reads.

It’s all going to be here, and on my Instagram, as well as my dedicated Teacup Book Club Instagram. And lastly in my newsletter, which will hopefully be launching in a few weeks time! You can sign up on my homepage, just scroll down to the subscribe box or click here!

You can also shop my reading list, and book club recommendations via my Amazon Affiliate page*.

So, the ultimate question. What’s your favourite book that I NEED to read?

*I earn a small commission for any books bought through my Amazon Affiliate page.

As a mother who loves to travel, I’d love to take Henry on a trip to Disneyland Paris someday. The trip won’t be cheap, but I’ve learned that I can buy or rent a Disney Vacation Club timeshare on the DVC Resale Market at a steeply discounted price.
