Four ways you can feel glamourous every day

I think we can all agree that being a mum is one of the most rewarding things. Although it comes with its struggles, we all know that every sleepless night, every sore tooth, bump, scrape, tantrum and tummy ache is all worth it in the end. We’re proud to put our children first and at the forefront of everything we do, but did you know that you can also do little things for yourself from time to time too?

It probably seems like an alien concept; the idea of putting yourself before your little ones, but not only is it good for your mental health but it also allows you to refocus and carry on being the best mum you can be. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and the same goes for motherhood. You can’t give your best if you aren’t feeling your best. When was the last time you felt glamourous? Probably not during last night’s feed or nappy change! But believe or not, there are lots of ways you feel glamorous and gorgeous without breaking the bank or disrupting your little ones’ routine.

Here I’ve gathered up 4 ways you can feel glamourous every day.

Visit your dentist

We think of tooth whitening as something reserved for TV and reality stars, but believe it or not, it’s not just for the fabulously wealthy. Add a splash of colour

Having little ones often means sacrificing our makeup routines and making do with a good BB or CC cream to make us look half awake! But you’d be amazed at the impact a strong, bold lippy colour can make to your everyday look. Whether you have time for a full face of makeup, or you just make do with a swish of eyeliner and a good concealer, try a quick swipe of beautiful lipstick to really make your look pop! Opt for a colour that compliments your skin tone and you’ll turn heads for all the right reasons! Personally I’m a big fan of a bright red lip all year round.

Try a good heel

Don’t worry, I’m not going to recommend a pair of stilettos for the school run. However I will suggest a slight heel to make your legs look longer; make you appear taller and to help you walk with confidence and style. Your heels don’t have to be towering in order to achieve this, just a cute kitten heel or even a nice wedge can give you the same effect.

Treat yourself to some new underwear

There’s something really great about new underwear. So, if you want to feel fabulous then go and treat yourself. It doesn’t matter if you prefer something lacey or something big and comfortable, spoiling yourself with something you feel good and comfortable in is a sure fire way to boost your inner glam and your confidence! And if it’s a matching set, then all the better!
