Getting Spring Garden ready

Anyone else really looking forward to Spring now? Don't get me wrong, I know British Spring isn't always much better than our Winter, but it is a teeny bit warmer, with a little more sun! And with the first signs of Spring, comes the hint of Summer, and that's a season I'm really looking forward to this year.

Anyway, with Spring in mind, we've been thinking about all our Spring cleaning, which always results in us decorating, re-arranging and organising some part or another of our home.
This year, we're focusing on our garden. With Henry hopefully being on his feet come the summer, I want to get him outdoors as much as possible, which means getting out in the garden. And it requires a much needed spruce up.

First on the agenda is a new garden shed. Ours is somewhat on the lean and needs replacing, and we need to size up so we can store away all the children's garden toys in the future. We currently have our eye on this Mercia Light Brown Shed from Homebase.

I also REALLY want a playhouse for Henry. I always wanted one as a kid, despite the fact I dislike spiders and honestly, probably wouldn't have played in it that much. But Henry being a boy, makes me hope he'll be a bit different and love getting mucky, and not be scared of spiders. I'ma little bit in love with this Homewood Bunny Playhouse - just look at the little handle and opening window *heart eyes*.

Alongside our big bits of kit, and our rather nice glass table set we already own, as well as a BBQ and Firepit, we need to spruce up our flower beds so will be hitting every garden centre in the South to stock up on plants that are hard to kill (our track record isn't the best, unfortunately). We'll also be repainting our fences and putting out some more grass seed in an attempt to get it looking nice, though we may have to admit defeat and level & turf it in a year or two!

In a dream world, I'd 100% have a Daybed for the garden, and we're loving these ones from Fishpools*, especially this St James Daybed because man alive would I feel like a Princess lounging in there on a summers day! In fact the entire Garden Range is kind of dreamy, including these awesome Wazowsky LED LightSpeakers (they are a portable speaker with colour changing LEDs) which would be perfect for summer nights in the garden.

So that's our Spring garden plans for this year. What are your plans?

  9. I am SO on the countdown to Spring. We're living in rented accomodation at the moment, but I really want to spruce up our gardens a little in time for Summer days. I think I we are going to invest in a garden table & chairs too so we can have dinners in the sunshine :) That play house is adorable!
