Why I love leg tattoos

You may have noticed recently that I've had a number of new tattoo additions added to my legs.
I'm kind of on a collecting mission especially since meeting the absolute doll that is Madeleine June and falling head over heels for her artwork and tattoo style. Plus she's a fellow hufflepuff so we're essentially kindred spirits.

I've always been a big fan of leg tattoos but have been slower in the collection front in this area until now.
For me, my legs are for collecting a mish-mash of cute smaller tattoos. Definitely all in colour.

You see. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with my legs. From the knee down I'm OK with them. My calfs aren't half bad. But my thighs, well they're a different story entirely.

And that's half the reason I'm on a leg tattoo collecting mission. Because the more ink i have on my legs, the happier and more confident I feel about them!!

Fortunately being a mum means my mini skirt days are ultimately behind me as they really aren't practical with a toddler. But I do where a lot of midi lengths and seeing a little flash of colour poking through the bottom gives me so much joy and a tiny thrill too!!

I really do believe tattoos can be so empowering. They aren't just memorials to old times. Or commemorating something you love. But they can grow your confidence so much, and help you to build that body love that so many search for but can never achieve.

So that's why I'm collecting leg tattoos and why I love them so much!
Will you be joining the leg tattoo lovers?

  1. I think that's so awesome that you find leg tattoos and tattoos in general to be empowering. I don't think I'll get any tattoos but that's not because I'm against them that's just because I'm indecisive! I tent to think that if anything is going to make someone happy and feel empowered then they should do it :)

  2. Gorgeous tattoos, these! I am not yet inked, but I reckon if I ever did I'd go for a full dragon up the leg tattoo. Proper style. :)

  3. Your tattoos sound as if they are really making you happy, which is great. I'm not into ik personally but I can appreciate the art that goes into them. Mich x

  5. Oh I love your ink! I wish I could get my single tattoo sorted. It's been unfinished for the best part of 10 years.

  6. Oh gosh I really liked this post! I don't have any tattoos but that's mainly because my husband is not too keen but I'm getting one on my legs, 100%, perhaps on my ankles. You have lovely collection, I definitely feel inspired.

  7. Ooh I love your leg tattoos!! I don't have any, although I have a couple of small tattoos hidden away, but I love them on other people! I think every tattoo tells a story, I love hearing why people made the choices they did!

  9. I love admiring tattoos on other people no matter where they are. Personally, I don't know if I could be so brave or bold to get them where I couldn't potentially cover them up if I wanted to xx

  10. I absolutely love your tattoos. I have 3 and would love to get more. Mine are all on my upper body, but I have been thinking of getting ones on my feet.
