BABY: My top baby/pregnancy books

I've always been a bit of a book lover so of course had to invest in a few ahead of Baby Bee's arrival. I just think books can give you so much good information, and usually slightly more trusted than the internet.
So I thought I'd share a few books that I've really enjoyed throughout my early and mid-pregnancy.
First-Time Parent by Lucy Atkins
I bought this book on Amazon for later on in my pregnancy to read ahead of Baby Bee's birth. It's kind of my guide for everything baby. It's really simple to read and is split into sections to make it easier to find specific hints and tips on a certain subject such as sleeping or eating.

Yoga for Pregnancy by Rosalind Widdowson
I was recommended yoga from a blogging friend Mandy and was given this book by my sister-in-law. Yoga is meant to help get baby lower ready for labour, and improve your posture and general body stretchiness to help with those little aches and pains from growing a human. I'm working on introducing yoga into my routine, especially for later in my pregnancy, as any extra help for labour is going to be useful.

Expecting: Everything you need to know about pregnancy, labour and birth by Anna McGrail and Daphne Metland
The second book donated from my sister-in-law, and probably my favourite. It's really guided me through pregnancy and labour so far. I'm taking it in small bits, and reading each pregnancy section the week before I get to that stage which makes it nice and manageable.

The Unmumsy Mum by Sarah Turner
Another gift, this time from fellow blogger and friend Natasha. Not necessarily a traditional baby book in that it isn't filled with advice and tips on babies, but it is a really good read for mums-to-be and mummas.
This book is from blogger the Unmumsy Mum and is a delightful read for when you just want a light pick me up and nothing too serious.

Have you got any book recommendations for me? Leave links to posts or amazon in the posts below, or just write the name of the book!

  1. I really need to get reading up on pregnancy and baby books! I love reading all the leaflets and small books I get given from the midwife but I think I'm going to have to check out a few of these to get some proper reading done for it!

I wish I took up the 3 for £1 offer on baby books this second hand baby store was doing recently and stocked up on a few!

  2. These sound so interesting! I had my little boy last year in May and loved reading the updates on Emma's Diary and Cow & Gate but I never once did any 'proper' reading, which would have been lovely to pass the time while being pregnant. It just felt so surreal to me haha! I love your picks, especially the look of the Unmumsy mum :D xx

  3. These sound so intriguing! I had my son a year ago in May and adored perusing the reports on Emma's Diary and Cow and Gate however I not even once did any "appropriate" perusing, which would have been flawless to breathe easy while being pregnant. http://www.coneivore.com
